It is observed in Tech Industry that the job seekers aren’t building the right skills that employer needs.

Although there is a high demand for tech jobs, job seekers often lack the skills that employers are looking for. There is a gap of negative 31% observed for Junior Software Engineers meaning that people are under qualified.

The employer generally look for the technical and behavioral skills while assessing any applicant for open position with their company. Employers struggle to find the right practical skills that is required to do work. The big reasons why companies are often happy to pay senior engineers good money when junior developers are willing to work for less as companies think that juniors are missing some important knowledge / skills like

  • How maintainable is your code?
  • How to write quality code?
  • How to design technical architecture?
  • How to handle performance aspects?
  • How good you are at breaking extremely technical issues down into simple solution?
  • Do you understand business of the company?
  • Do they proactively reach out to seniors with ideas that would make your team more effective?
  • Do you look out for different solutions for a single problem?
  • How do you handle errors?
  • How good are you at putting out production issues?

The list goes on and on, and most of it requires right grooming and guidance.
